A lonely young woman, Sintel, rescues and befriends a dragon cub, whom she names Scales. But when he is kidnapped by an adult dragon, Sintel decides to embark on a dangerous quest to find her companion.
Description
This film is the third free short film from the Blender Foundation, following Elephants Dream and Big Buck Bunny. Under the code name “Durian”, it was largely made using open source software (only the sound part used proprietary software), mainly Blender. The film has been available online since 30 September 2010 under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 licence.
The original concept was imagined by Martin Lodewijk, known in the Netherlands for his comic books, but the final script was written by Esther Wouda, in collaboration with Colin Levy (director), David Revoy (concept art), and Ton Roosendaal (producer).
